About Cristo Labs™
Cristo Labs™ is a research lab based in India. We work on computational frameworks for resilience in emerging market digital infrastructure, supply chains, and financial systems. We were founded on the conviction that the quantitative methods used to assess risk in advanced economies translate poorly to the institutions, infrastructure, and shocks that define the emerging world. Most computational risk research targets global systemically important banks, OECD supply chains, and developed-market digital infrastructure — because the data is clean, the regulatory scaffolding is mature, and the academic incentives reward it. The result is a literature that says relatively little about how the majority of the world's economies actually function under stress.
Our research draws on statistical distributions, machine learning, and decision theory to develop methods better suited to that reality. We publish in peer-reviewed academic journals, share open computational supplements wherever possible, and make our working papers available through established research repositories. We are intentionally independent. We accept no institutional sponsorship, no industry funding, and no editorial constraints on what we publish. Our work is shared with regulators, policymakers, and researchers who find it useful — without obligation in either direction.
Our Principles
- Reproducibility. Every method we publish is documented to the level required for replication. Where computational implementations are reasonable to release, we release them.
- Auditability. Our scoring frameworks are deterministic and traceable to their inputs. We do not publish black-box models without disclosure of their underlying mechanics.
- Methodological honesty. We report what our methods do and do not show. We do not overclaim. Where our results are sensitive to assumptions, we say so.
- Independence. No funder, sponsor, or partner has editorial control over what we publish.
